Marine Science iGCSE

This iGCSE combines online teaching with hands-on practical experience, blending Jake's weekly online lessons with in-person practical days led by the Hub's Learning Guide, Max, at the Bristol Aquarium and the Science Creates Learning Lab. Across the sessions, learners think and work like real marine scientists: investigating the properties of seawater, exploring how temperature and salinity affect ocean chemistry, examining aquatic organisms under the microscope, testing food for nutrients and energy, surveying populations and habitats in the field, and analysing sediment samples. The practical days are designed to bring the theory to life with real equipment, real data and real fieldwork.
